A 21st, a hens party and a wedding in one month!

Cindy turning 21

This has been the month of Cindy, my little sister.  She turned 21 the week before her wedding!  I can’t believe my little sister is all grown up.

Thought I might post my ‘maid of honour’ speech along with some shots of the past couple of days worth of ‘Cindy’s events’

—————-

Thanks…. What a beautiful bride hey?  And such a beautiful day.  Congratulations Cindy and Nathan.  Welcome to the family Nath… now that you’re my brother-in-law you really do have to put up with my picking on you!  Hey does anyone know Nathan’s favourite day of the week?  Cin-day.  Isn’t that sweet!

Cindy’s my baby sister… I guess I can’t keep saying that hey?  When little Timmy was told that a little sister was born he said ‘What a pain!’  He was hoping for a little play mate I think or someone to stick up for him!  Cherie and I were really happy.  She was our live ‘Dolly’.  We have photo after photo of her dressed up in cute little costumes.  Maybe she was always dreaming of this day when she would dress up for the man of her dreams!

My younger 'older' sister, Cherie at Cindy's 21st

Cindy also was a bit annoying.  She had the nickname – ‘Cyclone Cindy’.  Cherie and I can both think of assignment that received Cindy’s signature of approval… scribble!  … apparently you can’t leave those things lying around with a two year old on the loose!

When Cindy started grade two I was beginning Uni and part time work.  I barely got to see my family at all.  I really missed being there through your highschool years.  I wanted to be the one you shared your secret crushes with!   I only heard rumours about this ‘boy’ Cindy was apparently hanging out with when she was in highschool.  I think secretly we wondered how in the world did little ‘Cindy-lou’ get old enough to ‘go out with a boy!’

Spunky bride!

Well.. it looks like she’s marrying her highschool sweet heart.  This pair are inseparable.  The part I love about their relationship is not just the quality time the spend together doing life… but they spend time together playing games… laughing lots… dancing like silly goofballs.  I SO wish I could show you some footage I’ve seen of this pair dancing… and you think Nathan can’t dance!!!  Cindy was the youngest… who was allowed to listen to rock music… so she got all the dancing skills!

So I feel like I was away most of Cindy’s schooling life and have really only gotten to know the sweet little Cindy the most in the last five or so years.  I’m honoured to be Cindy’s maid of honour.  I’m so proud of you both and wish God’s riches blessings on your life.  I would encourage you to not only ‘play’ together but also even more frequently ‘pray together as a couple’.  The God who brings relationships together keeps them together!  Love you guys!  To the lovely couple!

First kiss as hubby and wifey!

The bridal party

The wedding day was perfect… the bride and groom looked amazing and looked like the had the day of their lives.  The bridal party consisted of Cindy (obviously!) and her two sisters (myself and Cherie) and brother (Tim) and then Nathan (the Groom) and his two bothers (Jason and Ben) and his sister (Rachel).  Plus my sister Cherie’s three little girls – Ebonnie, Adeline and Lainey!  So it was all round family affair!  Great day!  Congratulations little Cindy-lou and Nathy!
