Can you find Mary in Jenna’s Brain Tumor?
Quick update on our Jenski. If you haven’t been following click here for yesterdays entry.
Check out the photo of the tumor. This sucker is huge! Doctors think it could possibly have been there for years. No one could really know for sure. (Jenna’s step-mum spotted a mother cradling a baby in the mass… A ‘Mary apparitions’??? Can you see it? Its kinda trippy!)
Anyway, today Jenna had a MRV scan to check on the main blood vessel on top of the brain. The scan showed that the tumor was pushing on the vessel but the blood flow was good. One problem at the moment though is the swelling on the brain has not come down at all which is prolonging when the operation can happen. Please pray that this happens so surgery can happen and that Jenna can begin the walk of recovery.
Today as I was driving around running errands, I began mulling over the last couple of days… going over the hospital scenes with Jenna, the different conversations we’ve had and all the stories people have shared. It’s been amazing. I’ve gained so much more love and respect for Jenna that I can’t imagine this world without her. She makes lying in a hospital bed preparing for BRAIN SURGERY look as easy as a walk in the park! Seriously, I’m sure concern has crossed her mind but she is not showing it at all. She is positive… Happy… and always smiling like an angel. The presence of God oozes from her making momentary problems fade in the background. And why should they not? We have a Father in Heaven we can take all our cares and burdens to and we can know that he’s perfectly capable of carrying them and us through anything that life throws at us. The way Jenna has coped has made me feel like I could do anything! Life’s not always going to be easy. One week your biggest problem might be sore muscles from ‘working out’… the next a blown up laptop… the next a life threatening sickness! You know what? God actually cares about them all… but sometimes we need to get a grip on reality, stop complaining and let the joy of the Lord shine through all of our circumstances! What do you reckon?
Tonight, we left Jenna alone for an hour to rest and while we were away one of the precious nurses came to her room and sat at the foot of her bed and basically asked her why she was coping so well and why she wasn’t worried about the fact that she was having brain surgery any day. Jenna was able to smile her beautiful smile and share the real reason she has so much peace and internal joy. How’s your joy-o-meter today?
Thanks for checking in. Again, if you’d like to send Jenna a card or bless her with some dollars to help with medical expenses please let me know. I can get you an address!
Blessings!
