Brain surgery success for Jenna

Update from Mandy on how Jenna is going after her surgery today.  Praise Jesus for her spirit.  So wish I could be in Nashville this week to be with her and to see God work through her!  Keep praying her testimony shines.

Hello everyone!! Well, we have made it through the biggest hurdle. Jenna went into surgery around 1:15pm and a little before 6pm she woke up praising the Lord and laughing. What a way to start her next stage of life eh?! Her parents got to welcome her back, tumor free and had an amazing 30 minutes of just rejoicing over what God has done. Some details from the surgery…

The tumor was a bit more pervasive than they had hoped meaning it’s little tentacles were dug in deeper into the brain than they would want. They were able to get most of the tumor but they had to leave a few cells in that attached to the main blood vessel that runs across the top of her brain. Also, right now she is unable to feel her toes and her right leg feels a bit tingly. They expect that as the swelling goes down from the surgery that her leg will come back to life. PRAY!!!! I believe it will… I truly believe that she will not even have any ‘smell’ from this tumor; No trace of it in her body! But her speech is clear, her mind sharper than ever and her spirits are higher than they have ever been. She is laughing and smiling and according to her dad, ‘she looks like an angel.’ He may be a ‘ slight bit’ biased but I believe he isn’t far from the truth!

Oh and with her hair… I know all of you girls are concerned… they shaved her whole head so she is fully sporting the G.I. Jane look. She does have a white bandage on her head like you see in the movies as well. (just to give you a visual). And get this, the sweet angel that Jenna is, she donated her hair to Locks of Love. Such a giver…

So what’s next… well right now she is hanging out in the ICU. For the next few days they are going to be monitoring her closer than ever because of the nature of this tumor. It is known as a bleeder and they obviously don’t want the tumor to live up to its name. Also, they want to monitor the swelling as well as her tingly leg. SO, alas no visitors.  That was probably the most heart breaking news for me honestly. I just want to see her. I gotta check out her knew ‘do.’ :p But hopefully by the end of the week or weekend she will be cleared to see people. But right now, too much movement even with her mouth could be dangerous for her.

In the mean time… PRAY!!!!!!!!! We need the swelling to go down, the bleeding to stay away and her leg to go back to normal. We also need the remaining tumor cells to disappear so that there is no chance of it ever coming back. Also, she is one day closer to receiving the bills so we need to pray for financial miracles!!!

Thanks again for all of your love!! Let me know if you want to send her anything and I will get you her address. Thanks again!!!
