SO I got a twitter from @vickybeeching on Friday challenging me to write a life-changing blog while I was traveling with Alabaster Box to Michigan... so here goes... this is for you Vicky Beeching!
We started the 600+ mile journey to Evart, MI in fine form - NOT! Forgot baby Mitchell's favourite dummy (pacifier) that can only be purchased from Australia... so we experienced some extra crying.... also forgot our float and couldn't leave Nashville till after 12:30pm!
I started driving just before Louisville KY with Justin as my leech. (The name 'Leech' is the name affectionately given to the person sitting in the passenger seat keeping the driver awake!) We started talking about how we could twitter (basically blogging from your mobile phone) all the way up and try and come up with interesting things to let the world in on. That's when we saw Amish people broken down on the side of the road and Justin 1. Learnt how to use my old school nokia 2. Learnt what twitter was and 3. Learnt how to use predictive text! Half an hour later this twitter was sent out 'A van full of Amish people just broke down on the side of the highway...does this seem odd to anyone else?'
We then got talking about my trip to England when Vicky pulled out the old song 'Shine Jesus Shine.' Turned out that Phil the drummer playing with her that week played on the original recording! The question was asked who wrote the song...neither of us couldn't remember and Justin said lets ask 'CHA CHA' (242 242). Apparently you can send a question via a phone message to CHA CHA and find out the answer! We found out Cliff Richards was the man and he was born on Oct 14, 1940 in Lucknow, British India!!!
Then we just got silly and asked what ingredients were on a BIG MAC! 100% Beef Patty, Big Mac Bun, Pasteurized Process American Cheese, Bic Mac Sauce, Lettuce, Pickle Slices and Onion!!! So all of us now have the ability to find out whatever we want, whenever we want in a few seconds!!!! So that really leaves us with something to think about... in fun... we can go to google, chacha... whatever and find answers to almost anything... but what kind of answers are we finding to the serious questions of life? Or what kind of answers are our young people finding to questions or struggles they might be having? Are they turning to the net or do they have mature, Godly people they can ask questions of? All of us are 'influencers' whether we like it or not. Hopefully we can people of integrity that young people feel they can come to for Godly wisdom...
How'd I do VB? :)
